New for 2026: a plain-English guide to comparing car insurance without overpaying. Read it →

Editorial Policy

How XCredit Insurance researches, writes, and maintains its insurance content, and how editorial independence is kept separate from advertising.

Our mission

XCredit Insurance is an independent publisher that helps US consumers understand and compare insurance. We are not an insurer, insurance agent, or broker, we are not affiliated with any government agency, and we do not sell policies or process applications.

Our goal is to explain how insurance really works in plain English — what a policy covers, what drives the price, and how to compare options — so readers can make an informed decision.

How we create content

Every guide starts from primary sources — official government resources such as Medicare.gov, HealthCare.gov, the CMS, and the FTC, plus state departments of insurance and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). We prefer official documents over other blogs.

Research may be assisted by software, but content is reviewed by a person before publication, checked against sources, and dated. We do not auto-publish unreviewed content.

Independence from advertising

Editorial decisions — including which topics we cover and how we describe them — are made independently of advertising relationships. Advertisers do not receive favorable coverage in exchange for payment. See our Advertiser Disclosure for details.

Keeping content current

Insurance rules, plans, and prices change often, especially around Medicare and ACA enrollment periods. We recheck our guidance on a recurring schedule and update the “last reviewed” date only when a real change is confirmed — never to make a page look fresh without a material update.
